The Cardinal Lake Community is located in Duluth, Georgia and is comprised of over 650 homes. Opal and Robert Webb were the first family to move into Cardinal Lake Estates in 1960, and we still have new homes being built on empty lots today. There are even a few lake lots hidden away but still available. Cardinal Lake is located approximately 30 miles NE of Atlanta in Gwinnett County. Gwinnett County is home of one of the best school districts in the nation as well as great shopping, entertainment and attractions.
Within the Cardinal Lake Community, there are two lakes: Cardinal Lake and Canary Lake. Canary lake backs up to Davenport Road, Canary Lake Road and Irene Circle, and has a great dam and member owned dock which members of the CLCA are welcome to fish from or just sit on the bench and enjoy the beauty, serenity and varied wildlife. Canary Lake is a 9 acre lake located between Davenport Road and the upper left finger of Cardinal Lake.
The Cardinal Lake swimming pool is open from May to September. During this time there is a lifeguard on duty every day during posted lifeguard hours for the safety of the CLCA members and their invited guests. The pool has two diving boards – a 3 foot shallow end that slopes to 12 feet in the deep end. There are picnic tables, a beautiful pergola, an outdoor shower, and restrooms available.
Our beautiful new clubhouse was built over a period of a couple of years and finally opened in 2006. It is the home of many Cardinal Lake member and community events and private parties. There is a large open room, caterer’s kitchen, and small meeting room which can be rented by our members. Please see the Clubhouse Rental page for additional information on renting the clubhouse.
Mary Paulsen Playground
We are very excited about the addition of the Mary Paulsen Playground which was installed and dedicated in 2007. Mary Paulsen was an active member of the CLCA who very sadly lost her fight with breast cancer. We celebrate her life and the life of her daughter with this beautiful new playground for the children. The fenced in area provides a safe place for the children to play!
Letters from our Neighbors
[My niece] Jennifer was diagnosed with Leukemia in January 07 and again in January 08. I have been taking care of Jennifer since January 08. During this time, Mrs. Christy Epsy has done an outstanding job ensuring we had meals every other night of the week.
I would like to say thanks to Christy for all of her efforts in coordinating the meals from so many neighbors in Cardinal Lake. It's a wonderful feeling knowing there are so many nice people in this neighborhood. This has been a tremendous blessing to myself and Jennifer's family. We are truly grateful to everyone who has prepared meals or provided gift cards to the local supermarkets. Their kindness, words of hope and prayers are greatly appreciated. May God Bless each of you.
